The Milford Earth Day 2024 celebration will offer an excellent opportunity to network with other sustainability-minded organizations and connect with local citizens who are ready to be engaged and inspired by all the ways we can help protect the planet.
This event will take place at the Milford Library and Fowler Pavillion between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2024. (note: the event is both indoors and under a pavilion so it will take place rain or shine) Plenty of space is available for exhibitors to set up. There is no fee required, but we ask exhibitors to supply their own tables, chairs, tents, and exhibit materials.
We welcome neighborhood clubs, civic organizations, nonprofits, for-profit organizations, artists, and other local groups/individuals to help us celebrate nature's bounty and ensure a resilient, beautiful, and healthy future for Milford.
Exhibits should a) be focused on sustainable activities; b) embody the spirit of minimal waste, which means no giveaway promotional items or disposable trinkets or containers; and c) to some degree, be interactive. (Note: "interactive" can include conversations with the public, posters or displays that invite the public to add information, quizzes such as crosswords, games, or hands-on demonstrations.)
Example feature issues include, but are not limited to:
Local environmental volunteer opportunities
Ecology and wildlife of Connecticut
Protecting ecosystems with conservation
How to go plastic-free
PFAS-free cookware and/or rainwear
Art or music that teaches or inspires climate action or environmental protection
Civic engagement
We welcome your ideas and creativity!
